The Cooper Hewitt, the Smithsonian design museum located in Manhattan, NY. It is the only museum in the US devoted to historical and contemporary design.
Curate at least 3 pieces from that archive collection and design something around that. While the 3 pieces don't have to be connected in an obvious way, there should be something thematic that brings the work together in a series.
+ Built out high fidelity UI wireframes of the website
+ Researched and collected content for the exhibits
+ Applied motion graphic animation to the wireframes
As I was going through the Cooper Hewitt archived collection, I was noticing instances of designers using their platform to further a social justice movement.
Feeling strongly about how design can have the power assist a movement and cause change, I wanted my project to have that thematic connection between works I curated.
While the project could have been print or digital, I wanted to create a digital exhibit that could exist on the Cooper Hewitt website for anyone to have access to and learn about these social justice movements through design.
This project was an opportunity to explore the user interface, and how motion graphic animation can add and help build a immersive experience.
