About
Hersheypark

Hersheypark® is a family amusement park in Central Pennsylvania, complete with 15 thrilling roller coasters & a larger than life waterpark. The company wanted to update their online experience to better align with the in-person attraction.

Project Summary

The Hersheypark project was a full website redesign. The internal Arke team was tasked with building out the UX/UI for this new experience, and package that experience to hand it off to Hersheypark's internal web development team. This created a unique challenge because that web development team was in the process of being assembled, so we had to design in a way to could be easy to understand to a team unfamilar with our process and file organization.

I was brought onto the project after the initial concepting phase had been completed, so my role was to mainly assist the senior designer on the project. I helped build out some of the page experiences, but mainly, I focused on taking page designs to build out components and section layouts to integrate into a larger design system and hand-off deliverable.

The project is still in development, so full details about the project can only be shared  with prospective clients and employers when reaching out directly over email or within a video presentation.

The Hersheypark design system required a lot of variety because of the extent in which the system would need to be utilized across the experience. This led us to creating more general base components that could be used as building blocks across the entire system.
