About
Gables Residential

Gables Residential is a privately held owner and developer of multifamily and mixed-use communities nationwide. Their primary website is user-facing focusing on helping prospective renters search for their next home in one of their apartment communities.

Project Summary

The main challenge with the Gables website redesign was to create an experience that could cater to the different ways users prefer to browse for apartments. On one end there are users who want to move quickly, see the high level details, and schedule an in-person tour to reach a decision while other users like to learn and discover more about the experience prior to committing to that in-person visit.

Understanding this, the website was redesigned to still maintain the typical search funnels to help users find exactly what they are searching for and easily schedule a tour with minimal friction. Once users land on an apartment detail page, there are sections within the page where users can choose to "dive deeper" and learn more about a specific apartment community. These moments to "dive deeper" cater to users who want all the information to have a clearer idea of what a community has to offer.

These "dive deeper" interactions allow Gables to create more storytelling moments within their experience for users who want it, and it is tucked away enough for users who want to browse quickly.

The cornerstone of the brand is Gable's "stealth" design element which is the diamond shapes that make up their logo. By highlighting this foundational element across the experience, it makes the website unique from competitors and more importantly something Gables can own.

These mood boards helped bridge the gap with our client's giving them something visual to guide the conversation around creative direction. It helped us reach a path forward that captured the warm apartment living that Gable's wanted to project with a high-end feel.
